Nu ep9

Been really sick this last week, took me a couple of days to get out of bed, now I'm back in Sweden with a bag of pills that the doctor told me to eat. Apparently I have som kind of infection in my lungs... It sucks.

Being in Sweden means that I have an internet connection, a fast and stable one that is. Feels kind of strange.
This also means that I can upload videos, so here's Nu ep9, enjoy.

Last day of Verbier freeride week

Went up on the mountain to watch the comp and do some soulriding on my own today.

Skiing was awesome. Mattias skied his comp run really well and ended up third. Congrats buddy! Now Fredrik has to keep his promise and get shitfaced in Verbier tonight since mattias ended up on the podium...

Another day in Nendaz

Low clouds covered the mountain today so me, Joel and Erika went to scope some new lines in the woods. Found some stuff on the backside of dent du nendaz that ended up at the road to siviez, right at the bus stop, including a new stomping ground. We need some more snow lower down...

Did some powder butters as well, good times

Injuries keeps coming...

Today it was Pers turn. During the FWQ 2* today he crashed and twisted his knee, MRI in a couple of weeks. Out of the 10 Swedes that lives in this house, 6 are now injured. Only 1 in our apartment has escaped injuries so far... Maybe we should slow things down...

The snow came back. Still dust on crust on some aspects but there's tons of fun to be had!

La Clusaz second day and summary

Because of low snowpack, some incidents on the first day and bad visibility they decided to close of big parts of the face for the second day. Decided to do something no one else would go for and found myself more or less a slopestyle course. Unfortunately, the pictures we got didn't really tell the truth about the snowpack so my my first hit (a big natural corner) hardly held any snow. Decided to hit it kind of like a quarterpipe instead. When we started to take the lifts to the hike that would lead us to the start gate, snow and fog rolled in. Me and Sara (Hultman, snowboard) managed to have the worst peptalk ever, talking about friends that had passed away in avalanches. Great idea. When we came to the top we couldn't see anything, the comp crew was stressed out because of the weather and just sent off people even if there still was people in the venue, starting numbers didn't matter. Snow sucked big time, big time bumpy and rock solid. Wasn't stoked at all so I pretty much just skied down to our beer.

Summary second day: Fog, stress, flat light, horrible snow (knee didn't like it at all), snow, bad visibility, unstoke.

There were some people sending it big, which was really fun to watch, unfortunately one guy injured his knee, it looked like he didn't see a mogul, it caught his ski and twisted it backwards. Hope everything went ok.

I'm still pretty pissed at myself for the first day, fell just before my last feature, a mogul I didn't see in the flat light knocked me over, was pissed and just skied down. Me and Fredrik decided to ski the same line and he ended up 6th so I'm still pretty happy with my choice of line and it was fun that Fredrik got a good place.

All my linechoices these two days was about finding stuff that didn't really exist or was unexpected, I like that creativity pays off with the new judgement system (we were the first ones to be judged by the new system).

All in all I'm pretty happy with the comps but really pissed at the same time...

FWQ La Clusaz day 1

Skied my worst run ever today, shitty snow, flat light and I skied like I never had seen skis before. Found my line easily but I didn't see a mogul and tumbled after my third jump, got up on my skis really fast again but was too angry to ski so I just skied down. Got an undeserved 19th place for that, 0,1 points behind Mattias and some points behind Fredrik who skied really well and took 6th place.

The venue for tomorrow, spin to win?
